Ordained at Ripon in 1935 and was curate at St Aidans Leed s for 3 yrs, Moved to Paignton in Devon and was curate for 8yrs. Next he was V icar of Totteridge til 1958 & he was appointed Sub-Dean of St Albans Cathedral From there he became Dean of Ripon and served in the higher circles of Church affairs.Two books of poems were published, `Sharp Reflections'1989 and `Five I nstant Glorias and a Creed' 1991 `Daily Telegraph 29.6.1992'

He was born on 14 December 1911 and educated at Queens' College, Cambridge.Ordained in 1936 he began his career with curacies in Leeds and Paignton. Subsequently Vicar of Totteridge he was then appointed a Canon Residentiary of St Albans Cathedral, a post he held until his appointment as Dean of Ripon in 1968 . He retired after 16 years in post and died on 25 June 1992.
