Death of Justin Le Grice's wife and James' mother
2 February 2012 - 4:38:54am
Elizabeth Margaret Le Grice
Margie sent me a text at midnight on 31st December 2011 reading "Yey, another year!!" She had made the decision to have a 2nd heart transplant indicating an irrepressible will to go on living. Sadly a heart attack ruined her plans and she passed away on Jan 3, 2012. Her tangi drew together family and friends from many walks of life and the numbers showed the mana and respect held by so many people. I will miss her hugely as a lovable daughter-in-law.
Rex Le Grice
This notice was placed in the NZ Herald just once but weeks later people are still offering condolences.

A new hosting service and finally searches working again.
5 December 2009 - 9:07:52pm
I decided that I had had enough of my hosting service Dotster.
We have been having trouble with the searches for the last few weeks, and they basically have been useless in getting it resolved.
So I made the decision to move hosting services so now legrice.net Genealogy is now bought to you via JustHost.com. They made a hosting offer I could not refuse. 1 full years hosting for a third of the cost of Dotster, and I get more bang for the buck.
Please let us know if you have any issues with the site and we'll investigate them as soon as we can.
20 November 2009 - 4:30:02am
Over the past few days we have has a problem with the webhost and some permissions that were applied to some files, rendering the site broken. These have now been resolved.
We took the opportunity to upgrade to the latest release of phpGedView.
Partial Upgrade vs Full Update
27 June 2008 - 5:46:48am
We had a few problems last week because of a so called \"changed files only\" upgrade. It would seem that it did not include all the changed and updated files.
I have re-uploaded a full update and things seem to be working properly again.

Combining the old and the new sites
22 October 2006 - 2:00:15pm
After a year of testing the new data site, we are in the process of at last joining the front part of the old site up with the new data part.
*****To access the Php Gedview site and for you to get the full benefit of the whole site you must fill in the Registration part manually which is minimal, but does ensure that automatic logons from spam etc and attack by viruses hopefully do not occur*****
I welcome suggestions about the site and also the additions and corrections that you send in. I know sometimes I\'m a bit slow in adding them to the site but ultimately it happens. So for now Welcome again to Le Grice Genealogy have patience and fun in accessing your family lines.

It would appear that someone has tried to hack this site and managed to delete the user table. I have restored from a backup I took a month ago but I know that some user accounts have been lost.
If this is you then sorry, but would you please go through the new account procedure again.

Justin and I are trialling this site. For now we are keen that you register andgive yourself a password. Tis is a bit of a niusance, but the aim is to protect the site in a very basic way from viruses and other electronic invaders such as spyware.
We think it is up to date but you are welcome to comment and correct anything that you know is wrong. There is a lot of information contained here, collected from known correct sources and a proportion that has not been verified.
Most work over the last couple of years has been with the Le Grys lines because for some years we neglected these lines of distant cousins, but now there are several hundred as well as collateral lines.
Enjoy this site as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.
